مدت­‌زمان قرارگرفتنِ عضله تحت تنش از متغیرهای تمرینات قدرتی است که در سازگاری‌­های ناشی از آن نقش دارد. مطالعۀ حاضر، با هدف بررسی اثر شش‌­هفته تمرین مقاومتی با مدت زمان تحت تنش متفاوت عضله بر مقادیر VEGF و اندوستاتین سرم زنان جوان سالم انجام شد. 20 نفر از دانشجویان دختر (2/03±22/65 سال) در این مطالعه مشارکت کردند. آزمودنی‌ها به‌طور تصادفی و مساوی در دو گروه با مدت زمان تحت تنش یک ثانیه- یک ثانیه (Normal Speed Contraction) و سه ثانیه- سه ثانیه (Slow Speed Contraction) قرار گرفتند. بار تمرینی در هر دو گروه یکسان بود و تمرین مقاومتی به­‌صورت دایره‌ای در هشت ایستگاه، به‌­مدت شش­‌هفته و سه روز در هفته انجام شد. جهت بررسی متغیرهای پژوهش قبل از دورۀ تمرینی و 48 ساعت بعد از آخرین جلسۀ تمرین، از آزمودنی‌ها نمونۀ خون گرفته شد. دادهها با آزمون آماری تحلیل کوواریانس در سطح معنی‌داری 0/05P≤ ارزیابی شدند. بین مقادیر سرمی VEGF و اندوستاتین دو گروه اختلاف معنی­‌داری مشاهده نشد (0/05P). در آزمون قدرت پا، گروه SSC افزایش قدرت بیشتری را گزارش کردند. اگرچه در شاخص‌­های مربوط به رگ‌­زایی تغییری در دو گروه در مدت شش‌­هفته مشاهده نشد و به‌­احتمال زیاد برای تغییر این شاخص به تمرین بیشتری نیاز است، اما تمرین با زمان تحت تنش بیشتر (سه ثانیه- سه ثانیه)، ممکن است افزایش قدرت بیشتری را در شش‌­هفته به‌­دنبال داشته باشد.
