تعیین بهترین میزان فاصلۀ استراحت بین دوره‌های تمرین ﻣﻘﺎﻭﻣﺘﻲ، برای رسیدن به سازگاری، بسیار مهم است. هدف پژوهش حاضر، تعیین اثر فاصله‌های گوناگون استراحت بین نوبت‌های یک جلسه تمرین مقاومتی بر بیان ژن پپتید وابسته به ژن کلسی‌تونین (CGRP) و عامل رشد شبه‌انسولینی یک (IGF-1) در عضله بود. به این ‌منظور، 42 سر موش صحرایی نر ویستار، به‌صورت تصادفی در هفت گروه قرار گرفتند. گروه‌های تمرینی یک جلسه تمرین مقاومتی (صعود از نردبان عمودی یک‌متری با 26 پله) با چهار نوبت، پنج تکرار با استراحت‌های 30، 60، 90، 120، 150 و 180 ثانیه‌ای بین نوبت‌ها را اجرا کردند. اضافه‌بار برابر با حدود 150 درصد وزن بدن موش‌ها بود. برای ارزیابی بیان ژن CGRP و IGF-1 از تکنیک RT-qPCR استفاده شد. میزان بیان ژن CGRP عضلۀ نعلی در گروه‌هایی که 30 ثانیه، 60 ثانیه و 90 ثانیه بین دوره‌های تمرینی استراحت می‌کردند، به‌طور معنی‌داری پایین‌تر از گروه‌های کنترل، 120، 150 و 180 ثانیه بود. بااین‌حال، میزان بیان ژن IGF-1 عضله در بین گروه‌ها تفاوت معنی‌داری نداشت (P=0.12). مطابق یافته‌های پژوهش حاضر، به نظر می‌رسد این دامنه استراحتی را نقطۀ افتراق بیان ژن‌های فعال‌شونده در فرآیندهای توسعه قدرت و حجیم‌سازی در سطح سلولی مطرح کرد.
