امروزه کفش های سبک و مینیمال در انواع مختلف فعالیت های ورزشی به منظور قرارگیری در شرایطی نزدیک به موقعیت پابرهنه مورد استفاده ورزشکاران قرار گرفته است. اما تأثیر آن بر فعالیت الکتریکی عضلات پا به خوبی درک نشده است، از این رو، هدف این مطالعه بررسی فعالیت الکتریکی عضلات منتخب ساق پا هنگام استفاده از کفش مینیمالیست، کفش معمولی و پابرهنه حین فرود تک پا بود. 15 پسر سالم با میانگین سنی 64/2 ± 53/23 سال که سابقه هیچ نوع ناهنجاری نداشتند در این تحقیق شرکت کردند. متغیرهای الکترومیوگرافیکی عضلات درشت نئی قدامی، نازک نئی طویل، نازک نئی کوتاه، دوقلوی خارجی، دوقلوی داخلی و نعلی پای برتر آزمودنی ها در دو فاز پیش فعالیت و اکسنتریک مورد بررسی قرار گرفت. برای تحلیل آماری دادهها، از روش آنوا با اندازه های تکراری در سطح معناداری 05/0= αاستفاده شد. نتایج نشان داد در هر دو فاز، فعالیت عضلات منتخب ناحیۀ ساق پای افراد حین حرکت فرود تک‌پا در وضعیت پابرهنه بیشتر از کفش مینیمالیست و در هنگام استفاده از کفش مینیمالیست بیشتر از کفش معمولی بود (05/0>p)؛ از آنجائیکه کفش مینیمالیست از نظر الگوهای فعال‌سازی عضلات حد وسط وضعیت‌های پابرهنه و کفش معمولی نشان داده شد، پیشنهاد می شود برای جلوگیری از بروز آسیب¬های ورزشی و همچنین تقویت عضلات ساق و پا در محیط¬هایی که امکان حرکت پابرهنه وجود ندارد از آن استفاده شود.
